Daily Stoic Entry #100: How Do My Judgements Cause Me Anguish?

April 10th, 2022

Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).

Morning Reflection:

The judgements about myself cause me the most anguish. Trying to be perfect, putting the bar super high doesn’t help you in accepting yourself.

No more judgements. No more depriving yourself of joy about yourself. Feel gratitude and joy toward yourself. Taste that freedom that, that lightness, which comes from it.

Evening Reflection:

The frustrating thing is that the source of the great anguish is me. I know this and it irritates me. Most of the things that hold us back come from within us and it tears us apart from the inside. We know this deep down, yet we beat ourselves up even more for disappointing ourselves and the vision we have for us. Making us feel worse once again. All that is to say we are the cause and effect of our anguish, in a sense this is frustrating, but also liberating because we can also be the once to set ourselves free from the anguish.
