Daily Stoic Entry #117: How Long Does Praise Really Last Anyway?

April 27th, 2022

Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).

Morning Reflection:

Who knows? I suppose it has more to do with how much you care about it and how long you keep it with you. That's what the question is getting at, examine the reasons why you hold on to praise and for how long. It is outside of your control, your internal praise and evaluation is more important. Still, do a respectable job and get some praise, but don't let it define you.

Evening Reflection:

Achieve along your own path and goals, care about doing the task right then whatever praise you may or may not get is bonus. It's more about your evaluation for yourself.

Title prompts are taken from The Daily Stoic Journal by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman.
