Daily Stoic Entry #14: What Jerks Me Around?

January 14th 2022

Title prompts are taken from The Daily Stoic Journal by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman.

Morning Reflection:

Most likely my own mind is the biggest jerk that's screwing me around. Procrastination, anxiety, depression, etc. All issues of the mind. Also be mindful of how others steal your time. Guard yourself from people intruding in your schedule. Don't let others intrude in your thoughts either, you need to find your own solutions. You can only do that in silence. Don't let others jerk your thoughts around, you need to figure out what you need now what others think you need. The answers are inside yourself.

Evening Reflection:

Don't let your impatience and desire for different outcomes jerk you around either. There is no point in desiring a certain future state like being wealthy if it currently makes you feel miserable and poor as a result. Also don't let your impatience for feeling better and healing your wounds of the past jerk you around either. No matter how much you want it fixed now, grant yourself time to heal. One day it will come, sooner than you think I'm sure.
