Daily Stoic Entry #152: Do I Have a Backup Option in Mind for All Things?
June 1st, 2022
Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).
Morning Reflection:
No, I don’t think anybody can realistically create backups for all things. That would burden us with too much crap. However, there are some major themes where we should create backups for. To prepare ways to soften any reversal of fortune. Take finances as an example, you should have an emergency fund so you can survive several months, giving you time to recover and respond. So, there are definite things you need to have a backup plan for. Just don’t overdo it for non-essential things.
Evening Reflection:
The hidden truth in this question is that you need to develop mental fortitude more than anything else as a real backup. Having the mindset that something bad can happen and having prepared and having faith you'll be able to recover.
