Daily Stoic Entry #166: Can I Listen More and Talk Less Today?
June 15th, 2022
Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).
Morning Reflection:
Something I should try more often no doubt. Do I talk too much sometimes? Yes, probably because I don’t socialize too much other than current hobbies and work. If that’s too much or little I don’t know. The point is not about being afraid to reveal too much for some political game but to examine if you’re just talking for the sake of talking. Sometimes, it’s better to say nothing if you don’t really know what to say, or if you don’t have anything meaningful to add.
Evening Reflection:
Also, for a moment, consider why you feel the need to talk. Is it to fill the silence, just because? And what is it that you’re actually contributing? Then again, don’t be too hard on yourself and judge yourself unnecessarily harsh for every word you do speak.
