Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).

Morning Reflection:

It’s our arrogance that either convinces us we already know something, thus closing us off to new ideas or it has us convinced that others can’t teach us anything new. This year I have consciously made an effort, and will continue doing so, to be in apprentice mode. So, hopefully, I’ve set myself up with the right attitude, so my own ego and arrogance doesn’t get in the way of learning. I’ve sought out a job environment with lots of smart people around specifically with that purpose in mind.

Evening Reflection:

Not sure if I can say much more on the subject other than keep an open mind. Stay open to having your mind changed. Always be willing to learn. And try doing the hard things more often so that you don’t let your ego keep you from failing at something. That’s the key take away.

Title prompts are taken from The Daily Stoic Journal by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman.
