Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).

Morning Reflection:

I’m not exactly sure, but it would make the moment-to-moment experience much lighter and less constricted. Too much energy is spent on wishing things were different or that and experience was different. That the past is different, that the future looks brighter, yet worrying about it. These things you don’t control, so let them go. On the other side, in the present moment, there is peace of mind.

Evening Reflection:

If you abandon all this mental chatter about the past or future and embrace this moment. You get things done more quickly because you’re not as distracted anymore. By embracing even, the unpleasant stuff you would rather avoid, you get past those things quicker and over time you will have trained your mind and who knows every time you can win that you can get stronger. See it as training for a fulfilling life because it is here and now the present moment to experience.
