Daily Stoic Entry #84: Would I Feel Wealthier If I Decreased My Wants?

March 25th, 2022

Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).

Morning Reflection:

I don’t know. It’s difficult to decrease your/my wants. There are some wants I have difficulty dropping, like do I need to buy this many books. No, probably not. I don’t particularly feel wealthy despite growing it every month. I just can’t seem to feel wealthier during the process which is a problem. I just have the end goal in mind which I wonder if I’ll ever reach, and this feeling adds to the problem of not feeling wealthy and always having the sense you’re lacking something. But look again and see how just rich you are. Monetary and otherwise.

Evening Reflection:

So, it’s less about having wealth and feeling wealthy. I need to feel wealthy during the whole journey. I need to be able to enjoy the nature of the process and the journey more than I currently can do.
