Daily Stoic Entry #88: Why Do I Care So Much About Impressing People?

March 29th, 2022

Follow along with my personal daily stoic journal, unfiltered, unedited (except for some spelling mistakes).

Morning Reflection:

To hide the things, you dislike about yourself. When you can impress another person, it gives that temporary relief about the things you so hate about yourself and your life. It's temporary though, because if all your energy is spent in impressing, you give away your total control in how you perceive yourself because you can't control what others feel, think, or say.

Evening Reflection:

The irony of this all is of course the less you worry about it and just focus on the things you can control; you will end up impressing people anyway. So, choose that option because in that scenario you're working towards meaningful goals.
